A slightly different take on the "Mar-a-Lago Burger".

To make a light and healthy "bun", wrap the burger in a piece of romaine lettuce and smother with your favorite condiments.

Ingredients

  • 5 tbsp grapeseed oil

  • 1/4 cup of thinly sliced scallions (white and green parts)

  • 1/4 cup finely chopped celery

  • 1 medium Granny Smith apple, peeled, cored and diced into 1/4 inch cubes

  • 1 pound ground turkey

  • 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh parsley

  • 1 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice

  • 1 tsp lemon zest

  • 1 large egg

  • 1/2 cup Almond Flour

  • 1 tsp sea salt

  • 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper

Directions

  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of the grapeseed oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  2. Sauté the scallions, celery, and apple for 5 to 10 minutes until tender; remove from the heat and let cool.

  3. In a large bowl, combine de ground turkey and the sautéed ingredients.

  4. Mix in 1 tablespoon of the grapeseed oil, the parsley, lemon juice, lemon zest, egg, Almond Flour, salt and pepper. Form the mixture into 2-inch patties.

  5. Heat the remaining grapeseed oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 4 to 6 minutes per side, until golden brown.

  6. Transfer the patties to a papel towel-lined plate and serve hot.
